Feedback is Key in your presentation!

Whenever you make a presentation or give a speech, feedback is very important. It will help you to determine the areas of improvements and you can strive to achieve for your next speaking gig.

At The Speaking Factory, one of our favourite ways to get instant feedback is to use post-its. At the final segment of our workshops, we dedicate a "Reflection segment", where we get every participant to write down their thoughts or takeaways for the day. They will write down their thoughts on post-its.

Afterwhich, every participant will take turn share with the rest of the participants their learning journey for the day; this is useful because what one person learnt will be different from the other participants .

This method help us achieve two important things:
1) While the participants share, this is another form of engagement with the participants (which is crucial as a speaker)
2) We can obtain feedback from the participants on the programme/ trainer's delivery styles so we know which areas to improve, maintain or change totally. And if you receive positive feedback, that will spur you for your next presentation for sure!

So if you haven't got the chance to try this method, try it the next time when you make a presentation whether at a meeting, workshop or anywhere. You might just need to tweak the method a bit but it is all worthwhile.
